Introduction

Ecoconnections goal is to connect a person to every species[1].

Species to be Ecoconnected will be selected randomly from all named species.

Encouragement to understand life and give life meaning - no ongoing obligation

By Ecoconnecting a person to every species, Ecoconnections hopes to build a detailed consciousness of life.  The Ecoconnection is intended as an encouragement and a focus.  There is no obligation attached to being ecoconnected.  There is an opportunity for learning, encouragement and conversation.

Whilst there are no formal ongoing obligations Ecoconnections does aim to build an encouraging community. Ecoconnections also aims to provide opportunities for engaging with and understanding the dynamics of life and each species.  The partnership with QuestaGame is a great example of such an opportunity.

Ecoconnections also plans to make funds available for Taxonomy research and development. Taxonomy is the research that leads to naming new species.

Mechanism for becoming Ecoconnected - Intended as a special gift

To become Ecoconnected a payment of US$100 is made to Ecoconnections.  A species is then randomly selected from all named species and allocated to a person.  The person making the payment may nominate the person to be Ecoconnected by providing their name and email address.  Alternatively a payment can be made to Ecoconnect someone from the free list.

An Ecoconnection is intended as a special gift for a person.  In this way there is a bond between the gift giver and receiver.  This is important as being Ecoconnected is both an individual experience and a collective experience.  The collective project is an effort to understand all species and their interactions through time.  The bond between the giver and receiver is that of having introduced a person to one part of a larger collective enterprise.

Once you have received your Ecoconnection by email there are no ongoing obligations between the Ecoconnected person and Ecoconnections.  If you are Ecoconnected for free we suggest that you thank the person who pays for you. However Ecoconnections imposes no ongoing obligation between the person Ecoconnected and the person paying for the Ecoconnection.

Where a person is Ecoconnected twice – jumps to the free list

In principal Ecoconnections would prefer to connect each person to only one species.  A person will be identified by their unique email address or mobile telephone number.  Where attempts are made to Ecoconnect a person more than once the person making payment will be given the option to Ecoconnect a person on the free list.  In this case the Ecoconnection will be emailed to a person waiting on the free list.  Once the Ecoconnection has been accepted a notification will then be sent to both the person making payment and the person who was initially intended to be Ecoconnected.  The person on the free list will be given the option to provide their contact details and thank the person making the payment.

Ecoconnections obligations to people making payments

Ecoconnections will allocate an Ecoconnection (random species) for every US$100 contributed for this purpose.

Personal information collected from people making payments to Ecoconnections will be managed in accordance with Ecoconnections privacy policy.

Ecoconnections obligations to people who are ecoconnected

Ecoconnections will maintain a register of which species people are ecoconnected to.

Personal information of people ecoconnected will be managed in accordance with Ecoconnections privacy policy.

Refunds and returns policy

Once a payment has been completed no refund will be provided. Contact us if you have made an error in your purchase at info@ecoconnect.me.

Indemnification

People making payments and people being ecoconnected agree to indemnify and hold Ecoconnections harmless from and against all damages, losses, and expenses of any kind (including reasonable attorney fees and costs) arising out of or related to engaging with Ecoconnections.

Choice of law, mandatory arbitration and venue

Unless otherwise required by a mandatory law, agreements with Ecoconnections (and any non-contractual disputes/claims arising out of or in connection with them) are subject to the laws of the state of New South Wales, Australia.

Privacy Policy

Ecoconnections to apply the Australian Privacy Principles :

Ecoconnections will be guided by the Australian Privacy Principles in dealing with personal information. 

Review of these terms and conditions

Ecoconnections may revise and replace these terms and conditions.

[1] Goal 1: Each species, of approximately 2 Million named species, will be connected each one, to a person.  That is there will be 2 million people, 2 million species - so one species each person, no double up. Once this goal is achieved we may start again so there are two then three people connected per species.
